nCompass worked with keynote speaker Julie Middleton, Head of Sustainable Practice at The Travel Foundation, to develop a special presentation for the IMPACT Sustainability Travel & Tourism Conference in Canada.
With a background in tour operating, Julie supports businesses and governments to embed sustainable thinking and doing into their tourism strategies and operations.
As the lead practitioner in developing the Travel Foundation's portfolio of tools and training, Julie has extensive experience, having initially met Mike Goldwater of nCompass at travel conferences around the world in the 90's and early 00's.
On stage on 19 January 2020, Julie asked nCompass to develop and package up a powerful presentation which draws attention to the impact of tourism on destinations, and shows how the tourism industry, as well as stakeholders and communities touched by tourism, can work towards economic, social and environmental sustainability.
